Naomi, 22, suffered horrendous burns to her face and chest, in the attack, which took place near her home in East London, in December, 2012.
Konye, who wore a veil to disguise her face during the attack, was handed a 12 year sentence by judge, who called her actions “premeditated and callous”.
In a victim impact statement, read in court, Naomi explained she’d been left suicidal, following the attack.
Following the sentencing, Naomi’s lawyer, Mitesh Patel, read a statement on her behalf outside the court, which referenced her turmoil, following accusatios she’d attempteed to disfiguring herself.
He read: “My family and I have been forced to put up with false allegations about my character, including the false allegation that I had done this to myself.”
Following the news, Naomi – who did not attend the sentencing – tweeted her thanks to those who have supported her throughout.
