A young girl in Utah is reportedly the youngest person to be diagnosed with a rare form of breast cancer.

Chrissy Turner is being treated for secretory breast carcinoma, which apparently only affects one in a million people.

Chrissy’s mother Annette was alerted to a lump in Chrissy’s undeveloped breast tissue earlier this year.

Annette told ABC News: “She came to us on a Sunday afternoon, she said, ‘Mummy, I have been scared, and I have this lump.’ It had been there for a while.”

Chrissy will have surgery in December

Doctors believe that Chrissy’s condition can be treated with surgery and the brave little girl will undergo a mastectomy in the next couple of weeks.

Chrissy explained: "I was scared the first time that I knew about it… But I knew that I could fight it off and I hope that I can fight it off."

This isn’t the first time that the family has been faced with cancer.

Annette has been treated for cervical cancer whilst Chrissy’s dad, Troy, was also treated for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

The family are now raising funds to help pay for Chrissy’s expensive medical bills with a GoFund page.
