As parents, we hope that we are raising our children to be understanding, kind, tolerant and loving.

It can be tough letting them off into the big wide world, wondering who they will encounter along the way and hoping that they will always stand up for what they believe in.

So when a young boy was confronted with a homophobic adult, he shut him down so brilliantly that his father was beyond proud of him.

The dad from Bath posted his story online, and it has now gone viral as people are championing his smart little boy.

He explains that he had taken his son shopping to buy a present for a classmate.

His son had chosen a wand, tiara and jewellery for his friend, and as they were standing in line to pay for their shopping, his son decided to act out being royalty.

“I am the Queen and I say this line should move faster!” he announced, and those around him laughed at the sweet little boy.

However, things quickly turned sour as a man next to them yelled: “You can’t let your son do that, if he turns into a f** it’s your fault.”

As the dad explained to his son that the word was offensive, the main continued: “It means gay … it means you’re going to hell for being evil.”

Astounded, the little boy stood for a second before telling the man about his gay uncles.

“My uncles make children better when they have poorly blood and poorly bones. If you make them go to Hell that means you want the children to be poorly.

“Do you want the children to be poorly? Do you want them to be sick and have to go to Heaven?”

The man was left red-faced and was escorted out of the shop, as the little boy’s reaction left everyone amazed.

What a smart, brave little boy! We’re sure his dad was so proud of him.
