A six-year-old girl has been taken to hospital after being attacked a gang of teenagers. She was innocently playing on a swing when she was approached by the group of teenagers who told her and a friend that they should get off.
It’s believed that when the little girl told the group they had to wait their turn they turned violent and pushed the primary school pupil off the swing she was sitting on and she fell face first onto the ground.
The incident, which happened in Victoria Gardens in Portland, Dorset, at 7pm on Monday evening, resulted in the girl being taken to hospital to be treated for severe bruising.
It’s claimed the hooded teenagers moved off following the fall.
PC Simon Anderson, of Weymouth and Portland Police, said today: “This is a ruthless attack on a young child which could have resulted in far more serious injuries.
“I am keen to identify the offenders and am appealing to anyone who saw a group of teenagers in the area at the relevant times, or has information about the incident, to contact me in confidence.”
As of yet no arrests have been made in relation to the incident.
