The couple won the massive EuroMillions fortune in 2012, but have sadly decided to divorce with Mrs Bayford claiming the marriage has broken down ‘irretrievably.’

Husband Adrian said of the marriage split: ‘When you win the lottery it’s so stressful.’

The couple decided to purchase a mansion with their winnings. Mr Bayford has put in extensive time and effort in keeping the £6 million Cambridgeshire mansion. Adrian said: ‘I’ve worked so hard on those grounds, I’ve not had a break, we’ve never had time together as a couple.’

The split comes amidst rumours that wife Gillian has an affair with the couple’s landscape gardener.

Mr Bayford said: ‘I mean you cannot change what’s happened. It is just something that happened. But we’re great friends, we’re still getting on.’

He has since reportedly moved into a more modest 4 bedroom house in the area the couple lived in prior to their win. ‘Things happen. Sometimes in life you have to move on. We’re all happy now and life goes on.’

Friends of the couple have spoken out about the rumours surrounding their marriage troubles. One friend said about Mrs Bayford: ‘She’s definitely changed since she won the money, which is a real shame.’

Gillian is thought to have undergone a makeover, lost weight and started leading a far more glamorous lifestyle since she struck lottery gold.

The source added: ‘Adrian didn’t want to do anything special after winning all that money… They didn’t want to move abroad and sit in the sun. They had the kids to look after.’

Thecouple, who are parents to an 8-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old son, released a statement to the press confirming the sad split. We hope this isn’t another case of the lottery winners curse in action!
