13-year-old Isabel Laxamana died after throwing herself off an overpass late last month just days after a video, taken by the girl's father, emerged of the teenager standing in amongst long strands of her own hair on the floor.
The 15-second video shows Isabel with her hair on the floor after it had apparently just been cut off, whilst in an exchange with her father. He says: "The consequences of getting messed up, man, you lost all that beautiful hair, was it worth it?"
"No," she replies.
"How many times did I warn you?" he asks.
"A lot," she says.
Whilst it is not known why the girl's hair was cut, it has been reported that the video was uploaded to YouTube as a means of punishing Isabel for her unknown actions through shaming her. This has since prompted the launch of a Facebook page and website called Justice for Isabel, which according to its byline, is "a page honoring Izabel, a young Tacoma woman (13 years old) who jumped off the 48th St Bridge after experiencing public shaming from her parent."
Meanwhile, the actual video uploaded by Isabel's father has since been deleted but a videoed version of the original has emerged on YouTube.
