Winesi March had the invasive cataracts removed from his corneas thanks to nonprofit organisation Sightsavers, who got video blogger Doug Armstrong to film the moment they removed his bandages.
After 12 years of suffering, Winesi finally sees his grandson when his bandages are taken off by the doctor, and he immediately begins laughing and smiling, pointing to the family member he has never cast eyes upon before.
Clasping his hands to his face in happiness, he and his family burst into song at the hospital in Malawi, in a touching moment that will warm even the coldest of hearts.
UK based charity Sightsavers are hoping to complete one million cataract surgeries in third world countries as part of their A Million Miracles campaign.
