Back in 1995, a birth was announced much like any other in an Australian newspaper.

Except it was inaccurate.

Born Elizabeth Anne, the 19-year-old now identifies a a man and goes by the name of Kai Bogert.

And, in support of their trans son, parents Yolanda Bogert and Guy Kershaw decided to put a notice in the December 2 edition of Australian newspaper The Courier Mail to correct their 'mistake' and place a 'retraction'.

Written in the 'Births' section, it reads:

A RETRACTION - BOGERT

In 1995, we announced the arrival of our sprogget, Elizabeth Anne, as a daughter. He informs us that we were mistaken. Oops! Our bad. We would like to present our wonderful son - Kai Bogert.

Loving you is the easiest job in the world. Tidy your room.

The image quickly went viral on Twitter, with many praising the parents for their incredibly sweet and supportive gesture.

But, speaking to The Courier Mail, Yolanda explained that placing the ad in the paper was a complete 'no brainer' for her.

She said: "I needed to show my son I support him 100 per cent and wanted to let the world know that.

"It is all very new to us. Kai just told me a few days ago that he no longer wanted to live as a girl."
