Stinson Hunter has attracted more than 450,000 people to his Facebook page where he posts videos of himself capturing online predators, along with in excess of 64,000 followers on Twitter.

The operation caught the attention of Channel 4 and became one of the most challenging documentaries in the broadcaster’s recent history.

Yet, despite his newfound fame as a vigilante, Stinson lives in a "mate's spare bedroom" and has just "£200 to my name".

And he has now admitted that, in 2012, he was a struggling alcoholic.

Stinson bravely took to Instagram to open up about his past demons, sharing side-by-side images of himself at the height of his alcoholism and himself now, as a recovering alcoholic.

He wrote: "On the left was 2012 at the height of my alcoholism - on the right 2 years later and 18 months sober I'm looking and feeling a lot better."

He added: "Oh - and if anyone can find me some sideline work where I can earn a living whilst I work on my other stuff that would be ace!"

With his work being recognised by the likes of This Morning and Loose Women, and thousands of people supporting his efforts, it seems unlikely that Stinson will need to find another job anytime soon.
