A girl from the US has gone viral after she tweeted photos of a stranger's random act of kindness.

Liz, as she is called on Twitter, posted three photos of a DVD that had a note in it - along with $100 (£80) hidden behind the disc.

Liz, a college student, posted the photos alongside the caption: "My mom was just hoping to relax & enjoy a movie, but instead God blessed her with more. Marcos whoever you are, God bless you."

The letter read: "Hello! My name is Marcos. Every month I take $100 that I'd normally spend on myself and give it away to a stranger.

"This month I decided to change it up and put it in a Redbox DVD. You are the first giveaway of 2017!

"I just ask that you put the money to good use; if you don't need it, give it away. If you do need it, keep it."

After Liz's tweet started to gain momentum on Twitter, she was then tweeted by Kaylee the niece of the mysterious "Marcos".

Kaylee then showed the tweet to her uncle, Marcos Campos, who was then able to get in touch with Liz directly.

Liz was totally shocked that he had been found, tweeting her incredulity at his kindness.

She then gushingly thanked him for his generosity.

Liz used the social media platform to let Marcos know that they were not keeping the money, but donating to those who were more needy than themselves.

She then thanked him one last time.

Liz's original tweet has gone viral, and currently has just uner 100,000 likes and nearly 30,000 retweets.

Even Marcos' aunt signed up to Twitter purely to chat to the recipient of his random act of kindness!

What a lovely thing to do.
