When Neely Spencer discovered her mum Jane Wiggett had been murdered, her world crumbled. And, to add to her grief, her dad Daniel Spencer was found guilty of carrying out the brutal attack.

The "jealous and possessive" 59-year-old strangled his ex-wife Jane, 57, before hiding her body in her bed in July last year.

The dad-of-two, who has always denied the attack, was convicted in August this year and sentenced to life in prison, to serve a minimum of 16 years. But despite his crime, Neely, 29, says she still loves her dad and regularly visits him in prison.

Mum-of-two Neely says: "I know Dad's been found guilty of murdering Mum, but I still love him. My friends and family are shocked I'm in contact with him, but I can't get my head around him doing something so terrible. I miss Mum so much, and my little boys have lost their grandma too. I confronted Dad, but he insists he's innocent.

"Losing Mum has destroyed my life, I can't face losing Dad too. If he did do it, I'd still never stop loving him, but I wouldn't be able forgive what he'd done. I don't want to lose the relationship with the dad I've always known."
