Jimmy and Annette Alvarez found the child after hearing a scream come from their apartment complex last Thursday.
The scream came from a local man, who was searching through the dumpster for recyclable material. What he had discovered was a newborn baby girl, with the umbilical cord still attached.

Jimmy quickly wrapped the baby up in his t-shirt and warmed her up, letting the child breathe and come gently back to life.
His wife fought back tears as she described to KCRA news how the child would have perished if they had not discovered her.

But in a heart-warming turn of events, grandparents Jimmy and Annette have filed to adopt the baby they brought back from the brink of life - planning to name her Milago - Spanish for 'miracle.'
'It was a miracle she was there; it was a miracle she was found' said Jimmy, who has 37 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
'I'm just grateful it wasn't dumpster day.'
Local police located the 13-year-old mother of the child shortly after the baby was found. She admitted to dumping the baby and was given medical attention.
