Xander the pug had a rocky start in life; after an accident as a puppy, the little dog is now completely blind. But, when he showed up at an animal shelter in Oregon a year ago, something pretty amazing happened.

Despite the pug's disability, a man named Rodney Beedy saw some extra-special potential in little Xander and adopted him within a few days.

After Xander was adopted, Rodney and his wife had the friendly little dog officially certified as a therapy dog - and Xander's career helping victims of child abuse and spousal abuse began.

When he hears someone crying, Xander is drawn to them and instinctively knows how to make them feel better with a lovely little snuggle and a cuddle.

Xander works extensively with Klamath Chapter Hands & Words Are Not for Hurting project as well as Klamath Lake Cares - and he already has an avid following on Facebook.

It’s natural for almost any dog to be loving, but Xander has shown the world what blind pugs are made of.

More importantly, Xander has proven that, no matter what has happened to us in the past, we can come out on top - all it takes is a little love and a lot of perseverance.
