The reality star appears on the cover oiled up, turning her pearl-adorned neck and grinning toward the camera. Her long, dark hair is tied up to reveal her back and her prominent bare bottom.
The web was whipped into a frenzy over Kim’s shiny, oiled buttocks after she revealed the cover on Instagram.
She was labelled a ‘tramp’ and the images were met with cries of ‘put it away’ along with calls for her to cover up- purely on the basis that she is a mother and should ‘respect’ herself.
The pictures have undoubtedly highlighted the complex- and often dated- attitudes towards women online, and begged the question: Is it time to fix the Internet?

Mankind made history yesterday by landing a spacecraft on a comet over 300 million miles away.
Yet Kim Kardashian’s bottom garnered just as much (if not more) interest than this simply with a bit of oil and airbrushing.

If Kanye West had posed in a similar fashion to mum-of-one Kim, it would have made headlines, sure, but it would not have ‘broken the Internet’.
Society just does not have the same desire to objectify men.
A common response was ‘What did Kanye say’? In fact, the proud husband shared the pictures on his Twitter account.
But why does this matter? It is her body and not Kanye’s. In the 21st century a woman does not sign over the rights to her own body as soon as she walks up the aisle.
Kim Kardashian’s cover did not #BreakTheInternet. It simply highlighted that the Internet- and society’s attitude- need fixing.
