Schoolgirl Farah Baker, 16, has been tweeting and blogging about her life in Gaza since 2012, but gained thousands of followers last night as she live-tweeted Israel’s terrifying attack on Gaza.

She began by writing: "When u need 2 have hundreds of protests just 2 tell the world that BOMBING CHILDREN IS NOT OKAY. That's when u know that HUMANITY DIED #Gaza"
She emotionally added: "This is in my area. I can't stop crying. I might die tonight #Gaza #GazaUnderAttack #ICC4Israel #AJAGAZA"
And things only got more heartbreaking as the night continued.
"I AM NOT SAFE AND I CAN'T GET OUT OF THE HOME BECAUSE THEY'RE BOMBING IN MY AREA #Gaza #GazaUnderAttack #AJAGAZA
"We are sitting in darkness bc th power is off, flares r lightening up th area just like it's midday,we're just hearin bombs,drones,f16s#Gaza"

Fara revealed that she's already lived through three wars, but that this has been, by far, the worst of all.

She wrote: "I'm 16yrs old and have witnessed 3 wars, as I see, this is the hardest one #Gaza #GazaUnderAttack #GazaUnderFire #AJAGAZA #ICC4Israel
She also shared photos and Vine videos of exactly what she and her 6-year-old sister were seeing - and it's easy to see why they were terrified.
When questioned about why she was staying in her house, Farah revealed she couldn’t leave.
Yet, despite the grief and suffering Farah felt as she watched bombs rain down on Gaza, she insisted that she - and her fellow Palestinians - will stay strong.
Her last tweet was posted eight hours ago and, despite many people being afraid for her, a Twitter using claiming to be Farah's sister has insisted that the teenager is safe.
The total Palestinian death toll rose to 1,058 on Sunday after 147 bodies were recovered from ruined buildings the previous day. Israel announced that another soldier was killed, bringing its total military losses to 43.
Pope Francis has used his moral authority to appeal for an end to conflict for the sake of the world's children.
He emotionally told a massed gathering of pilgrims at the Vatican: "Stop, please stop! I beg you with all my heart.
"I think of the children, who are robbed of the hope of a dignified life, of a future.
"Dead children, wounded children, mutilated children, orphans, children who, for toys, have the debris of war. Children who do not know how to smile."
We desperately hope that people will listen.
