Woman gives birth after smuggling her husband’s sperm out of prison

Palestinian Samira Nimr had her husband’s sperm smuggled out of a prison in Israel, where he is serving a life sentence.

Using artificial insemination, Samira and her husband, Yahya, managed to conceive their daughter outside the prison walls.

It is not known what Yahya is serving his sentence for, but according to the Mail Online his wife has not laid eyes on him for 15 years.

Samira gave birth to a healthy baby girl named Yasmeen in the West Bank City of Nablus.

A spokesperson for the Israel Prison Service revealed that they were not aware of Samira’s pregnancy, confirming that she had has no contact with her husband due to their strict rules against conjugal visits.

Despite the strict rules, this is not the first time prisoner have managed to smuggle sperm out of jail and consequently go on to father children.

In 2012, a woman named Dallal Ziben gave birth after smuggling sperm from her husband’s Israeli prison where he is serving 32 life sentences.
