Aged two, Carly Fleischmann was diagnosed with severe autism and a motor condition that prevented her from speaking. Doctors predicted she would never develop intellectual abilities beyond that of a small child.

Despite being mainly unreachable for most of her childhood, at the age of ten Carly had a breakthrough, telling her therapist through typing on a laptop that she needed help because her teeth hurt.

From this moment Carly's progress has been unstoppable, and the girl that Doctor's though would never improve has revealed herself as an intelligent, interested individual who has defied their predictions.

Carly is unable to talk using her mouth, but she is able to type, and can therefore communicate with her friends and family in this manner.

She has thousands of followers on twitter and datebook, and has even co-written a book with her father, Arthur, about the struggle of living with Autism.

The inspiring 17-year-old has produced this video in order to help others experience what it's like to live with non-verbal autism, unable to communicate with the world around you.
