The incident, which happened at a train station in Madrid, has been captured on CCTV and the footage shows just how close the fallen man was to getting hit by an oncoming train.

The clip shows a man in the top left hand corner as he stumbles of the platform and falls onto the railway tracks. His injuries mean that he was unable to lift himself up off the track.

Passengers are seen frantically trying to wave down the train driver and warn him that there was somebody on the track.

Just in the nick of time, a brave woman (who turned out to be a member of the police force) risked her own life and climbed down onto the tracks, dragging him out of the way of the oncoming train.

The man was just seconds away from being killed or seriously injured by the train.

It is not known the condition of the fallen man, but one thing can be certain is that he owes his life to the kindess of a stranger.
