The shoppers at a Texas mall came to the mother's aid, when she accidentally locked the children and her keys inside the car.

She then ran into nearby shops to plead with others to help her break the children out of the heated conditions.

Realising they had little time to save the kids from the heat, the good samaritans found a hammer and began smashing away at one of the back windows to free them.

The Houston suburb of Katy, Texas, had reached temperatures of 98 degrees on that day, with the childrens' mother driving to the mall to get a haircut with her children.

Gabriel Del Valle, who recorded the incident, said that their was a child lock on the doors and so all of the adults struggled to get them open. Thinking they had 'no time to spare,' the strangers, alongside the mother smashed the windows and released the children.

According to Gabriel, the children were crying out in the hot car, even though they were only trapped for a matter of minutes before their mother procured help.
