It’s official; things are going to get VERY cold this weekend.
Particularly for Scotland and the north of England, where temperatures could plummet to -10C.
Brr!
The Met Office said: "Be aware that some difficult driving conditions will be encountered today with the possibility of some local transport disruption.
"A cold showery westerly airstream will cover Scotland, with troughs of low pressure bringing some heavy and prolonged wintry showers through the day.
"While most of the snow showers will be found over higher ground, the heavier showers could bring snow to quite low levels at times."
And, while the north are set to be buffeted by snow and ice, those living in central England have also been hit with a yellow weather warning…
For heavy rain, strong winds, AND snow.
Fun times, eh?
The Met Office said: “Rain, heavy at times, will develop early on Saturday and persist until later in the day.
“Given saturated ground, be aware of the potential for some localised flooding, as well as some travel disruption.
“Snowfall may also affect some higher routes for a time, more particularly in the north of the area, while winds will gust 50 to 60 mph in the south of the area.”
All in all, it looks as if it may be worth staying in this weekend.
