Jennifer Korth, 30, was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer when she was just 25, and after years of radiation and chemotherapy, she sadly passed away last month.

Korth managed to marry her boyfriend of nine years, Allen, on July 6, despite already being in hospice care.

Allen expressed his happiness at making Jennifer his wife, saying: 'Spending time together made life even more special, taking the road together felt as natural as the sunrise. Both of us are better for it.'

The Flint Journal reported that the couple did not marry earlier as Jennifer feared she would lose her insurance, but wanted to take the step before she died.

'When there's something you've always wanted and you're faced with death…it kind of brings peace to you. There's something about changing your last name to the person you love. It's just important to me that I get to do that.'

Charity Wish Upon a Wedding arranged the couple's nuptials - as they specialise in helping those who are terminally ill or facing life-altering conditions.

Her friend Alexis Cook added that Jennifer: 'Made the world a better place…[She taught us] you should appreciate what you have every day.'
