Ben Blakeley strangled Jayden – the day after she told him she was pregnant with his child – before burying her in his uncle’s grave in Didcott, Oxford, in December 2013.

Blakeley, 22, a former dustman, must serve a minimum of 20 years behind bars.

The jury reached a majority 11-1 verdict after over 12 hours deliberation.

“We can never erase from our minds the pain that was inflicted on Jayden, nor can we erase the image of Jayden's battered and bruised body. We will never be able to celebrate birthdays, Easter or Christmas with Jayden, and we will never get to see Jayden grow up, get married and have children.

Blakeley’s brother, Jake, is due to be sentenced on 22 August, after he admitting to pervert the course of justice after he helped Blakeley did up the grave Jayden was buried in.

Tragically, Jayden’s father, Paul, died just days before Blakeley stood trial, with his brother claiming, “The stress of the trial has caused it. He was desperate for justice to be done.”
