Since his release from jail earlier in the year, Sheffield had allowed Evans to use their training grounds, in an effort to get him fighting fit once more.

Now the club have revoked the 25-year-old's right to use their facilities, saying they had 'responsibilities to a fine and proud club,' and also to Sheffield as a city.

TV presenter Charlie Webster and Olympian Jessica Ennis-Hill removed their endorsement of the club after Sheffield let Ched train with them.

Evans was given a five year sentence in 2012 after he was found guilty of raping a 19-year-old.
