"She was really apprehensive at first… but then she got really comfortable and started feeling like part of the family. "We just fell in love - she's the sweetest dog."You definitely have to be ready for the responsibility… and you have to be open to loving and being responsible for another life."Via WhyWeRescue.com

"Frankie was thrown out of a car when he was a 4 month old puppy and he was in rescue for his entire life."[He] was not a nice dog when I met him. He was kind a scary dog. Just took; I think it was mostly exercise. He needed to get out all this extra energy and he just needed someone to kind of work with him and set boundaries for his behaviour and now he’s you know laid back and lazy and, and just generally cool."[He brings] A lot of humour, definitely and a lot of happiness and a lot of love…. [Frankie makes] me generally happier."Via WhyWeRescue.com

"I was driving my bus back and was going to go check out a house when I saw this brown little ball curled up on the sidewalk… I thought, I've got to help this dog."I got her to a vet and they told me it was pretty much going to be night that she died - it was lucky I found her."I totally wasn't prepared to have a dog… she made me reliable. I had to be home to take care of her… but she has put me on a schedule that I think is a really good thing."You're going to go to the pound and you're gonna find a dog, you're gonna connect and you won't have a choice in the matter."Via WhyWeRescue.com

"Henry I got when I went to Albama… she kind of just came into my life when I needed a good friend. "We like to get out onto the mountains a lot… we go hiking and camping, do a lot of exploring. "I think that animals know when they get a second chance and they're just awesome… they change everything for the better."Via WhyWeRescue.com

"We came upon them, because one of our dogs was missing and in the search to find her, we heard crying coming from the woods and found these two little puppies tied up in the middle of the woods."It’s a big responsibility where you have to take care of them and be ready for that animal and be ready for all the things that are going to come along with it. "But there will be hard times and there will be times when you are mad at that dog or that cat for doing something, but the love that they give you is so rewarding. I mean it’s like nothing else. You could yell at them for chewing a shoe and the next second they still love as much as they loved you before. "They’re you know they’re the only true, unconditional love."See this story, and many more emotional accounts, at WhyWeRescue.com
