The Primark children's clothing item could be a potential choking hazard

Primark have recalled a pair of children's leggings amid fears they could be dangerous to kids.

The leggings, which are grey and have two cat faces sewn on, have been flagged as a potential choking hazard.

It is thought that the pink bows on the knee area are not secure enough, and could fall off and cause a child to choke on them.

The clothing chain are now requesting that customers return the leggings to their nearest store, which have a product number of 86503.

They were available to buy in the UK between November 8 of last year and February 22 this year.

A spokesperson has released a statement which tells customers they can expect a full refund if they return the leggings - and don't need a receipt as proof of purchase.

The spokesperson said: "Through our ongoing due-diligence programme, it has come to our attention that the Novelty Cat Legging detailed above does not meet the Primark usual high standards for safety.

"We have found a potential issue with the security of the bow attachment within the product that may become detached and present a potential choking hazard.

"With the safety of our customers at the forefront of our minds we are inviting you to return this item for a full refund.

"If you have purchased this product then please return it to any Primark store where you will be offered a full refund. You will not be required to provide proof of purchase."

This comes after Toys R Us recently recalled the baby toy Oball Baby Rattles after concerns that the tiny beads could come loose and become a choking hazard to small children.

We hope none of you have been affected.
