A plus-size swimwear company has set out to prove women are sexy whatever their size, by recreating the cover of this year's Sports Illustrated magazine.

Plus-size models Robyn Lawley, Jada Sezer, Shareefa J and plus-sized blogger Gabi Gregg joined forces to recreate the famous shot, standing with their bare backs to the camera, wearing just bikini bottoms.

The company said it was looking to portray 'confident, sexy women with varying body types to highlight the beauty in all women.'

In a video to celebrate the shots, blogger Gabi said it was a shame that women represented in the media are small, despite there being 'such a diversity of sizes in the real world.'

Jada Sezer added that there needed to be more campaigns to promote a healthy body image, so that women feel like other women do indeed look like them.

The original shot was made up of models Nina Adal, Lily Aldrige and Chrissy Teigen in the Cook Islands earlier this year. They're all thought to be between a size 4 and 8.

In the video, the girls can be heard talking about 'not being stick insects' and embracing their curves, as well as their joy at finally being able to find a bikini that fits them correctly.
