Pit bull saves injured Chihuahua’s life, carrying him in her mouth to safety

A stray Pit bull came to the rescue of an injured Chihuahua, carrying the pup in his mouth to safety.

The white Pit bull was found wandering the streets of Savannah, Georgia by the local police department. She was carrying the Chihuahua in her mouth, occasionally stopping to lick the dog's badly infected eye.

The Pit bull saved her friend's life

Police took the two dogs to the Savannah Chatham Metropolitan Animal Control Shelter, where the Chihuahua underwent surgery to remove his damaged eye.

After the operation, the Chihuahua was reunited with his other half - something which both pups were extremely excited by.

According to the animal shelter, the pair began 'licking, whining, caressing and finally cuddling' one another.

The dogs, named Jonie and Chachi, are now looking for a home - preferably together - according to the shelter's Facebook page.
