Kelly Burgess, of Newport, South Wales, faces four charges of abuse in a position of trust - specifically sexual activity with a boy between 13 and 17 years old.
It is believed that Burgess began her liaisons with the boy whilst directing a musical at the school, staged in front of 600 parents, staff and friends.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police confirmed the charges and added: 'The incidents happened between January 1, 2013 and August 28, 2013.'

A spokesman for North Somerset council confirmed a teacher had been suspended from their post and that they were unable to comment further due to the ongoing Police investigation.
This comes just days after news that an American teacher Nikki Sherwitz, 25, escaped jail despite having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old pupil at her school.
This decision has been criticised by many for being biased, claiming a man in the same position would have got serious prison time as opposed to a fine and probation.
