With their super-trim figures and endless legs the Victoria’s Secret models are the envy of many women.

But the lingerie brand has sparked outrage in the past over its promotion of ultra-thin models.

Recently, their 'Perfect Body', campaign - featuring super-skinny models in push-up denim bras - was slammed by critics for being 'irresponsible' and sending out a dangerous mesage to young women.

Over 33,000 people signed a petition for the campaign to be scrapped and Victoria's Secret replaced the slogan to 'A Body For Every Body'.

For Christie Swadling, 18, her obsession with one of the most famous "Angels", Australian model Miranda Kerr, left her dangerously ill.

After restricting herself to just a shocking 200 calories a day and exercising excessively, Christie’s weight dropped to just 5st and she was told she was at risk of a heart attack and her body shutting down.

Thankfully, after several stints in hospital, Christie is on the road to recovery and has gained two stone. But she wants to warn other girls about the dangers of idolising Victoria’s Secret models.

Christie – who is in a relationship with apprentice carpenter Blake Ryan, 20 - says: “Lots of girls aspire to look like the Victoria’s Secret Angels. But they don’t realise it’s not a sustainable way to live and it's a constant battle to look so thin.

“When I was suffering from anorexia, I’d pour over images of the models’ slim bodies and it spurred me on to lose more weight.

“Miranda Kerr was my favourite.

“At my worst point I was so weak I could barely walk and collapsed with exhaustion. My heart rate was so low I was at risk of a heart attack, it was terrifying. I’m recovering now but I want to tell other girls to be wary of trying to copy these girls' perfect bodies.”
