Mikaeel Kular suffered from ‘peritonitis and internal bleeding’ according to released death certificate

3-year-old Mikaeel Kular’s cause of death has been revealed as ‘peritonitis and intra-abdominal haemorrhage’ according to his released death certificate.

The young boy went missing earlier this year, sparking a massive manhunt involving hundreds of volunteers from the Mikaeel’s local community in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Mikaeel’s mother Rosdeep reported her son as missing, but following the discovery of his body behind a house in Fife she was arrested on suspicion of his murder.

A registrar in Kirkaldy released the death certificate which read that Mikaeel’s cause of death was ‘peritonitis and intra-abdominal haemorrhage.’

The NHS website describes peritonitis as ‘the result of infection or injury to another part of the body, such as a split stomach ulcer or a burst appendix.’

The website also says: ‘Peritonitis is a serious condition that needs to be diagnosed and treated quickly to prevent possibly fatal complications developing.’

Mikaeel’s death was registered by his grandfather and his time and place of death was listed as ‘04.02 on 18 January’ in ‘Woodland behind Dunvegan Avenue, Kirkcaldy.’ 3

3-year-old Rosdeep is currently being held on remand at Cornton Vale Prison near Stirling, Scotland’s only female-only jail.
