Rosdeep Adekoya is currently serving an eleven-year sentence for killing her three-year-old son Mikaeel Kular and hiding his body in a suitcase.

Reports have now emerged that she is still allowed to have regular contact and visits from he other children, including Mikaeel’s twin sister.

The arrangement for the fortnightly visits has prompted outrage.

Julie MacLeod from the Mikaeel Kular Justice campaign told a UK newspaper: “The fact that she is now seeing her other children in prison is disgusting.

She added: “Why should she have that privilege when she has robbed them of their brother?”

Mikaeel's murder prompted a massive police investigation

Adekoya, 34, phoned the police and reported Mikaeel missing following his death, prompting a massive search operation across her hometown of Edinburgh.

Mikaeel’s father (and Adekoya’s ex-lover) has also revealed why he thinks she committed such a terrible crime.

He told a UK newspaper: “I think she killed Mikaeel because she couldn't stand to see me in him everyday.”

Julie McLeod is campaigning for a tougher sentence for Adekoya.

She said: “There are lot of people at fault here, social services being one of them, and they have questions to answer.

“By not having a trial and with no one from social services in the stands, they are avoiding being scrutinised.

“At the end of the day, the sentence is not enough. I have to go home and explain to my teenage daughter that the woman who killed the child we went out searching for day and night will only go to prison for at most 11 years.”
