The teenager, who was kidnapped by her biological mother when she was four-years-old, has been the subject of an international search effort for over a decade.

Sabrina Allen, now 17, was snatched in 2002 by her mother Dara Llorens. Llorens was divorced from the girl’s biological father Greg Allen, and has been on the run ever since abducting her daughter last decade.

Llorens assumed a new identity and moved frequently to avoid capture. However the hunt for her and her daughter ended on Tuesday when the pair were finally tracked down in Mexico. One Mexican police officer was injured in trying to restrain Llorens.

Sabrina’s father Greg, who lives in the U.S., said the news was ‘a big relief,’ adding that he and his family can now start the healing process.

‘I’m going to ask her if I can give her a hug. She’s in pretty bad shape, is my understanding, so I just pray for healing,’ he added.

Llorens, 44, had a scheduled visit arranged with Sabrina on Aril 19, 2002, as part of her custody agreement with Allen.

But when she failed to return Sabrina to her father, who had primary custody, Greg raised the alarm.

The search for Sabrina appeared twice on America’s Most Wanted, and involved hundreds of tips and leads that were dead ends.

We wish Sabrina and her family all the best during her recovery.
