Rotherham crime commissioner Shaun Wright has been accused of ‘turning a blind eye’ to the sexual abuse of over a thousand girls at the hands of paedophiles.
Mirroring calls from deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, Katie demanded that Wright “step down and have the moral courage to do what is right.”
“Noone wants you as their police and crime commissioner,” the controversial commentator wrote in her weekly newspaper column.
"You're stubbornly clinging to you pray packet like some evil koala on a money plant."
Children as young as 11-years-old were reportedly known to social services as vulnerable, yet became victims of a paedophile ring which subjected the girls to rape and threats to their families.
One youngster reported that police officers ‘lost’ the clothes she brought to them after reporting an attack, leading to allegations of a ‘cover up’.
Katie, 39, leapt to the girls’ defence, writing: “They are not dogs or horses and they were not treated with love and affection.”
“I understand the men manipulated the girls to get them under their control…”
“They are paedophiles. Mostly free to walk the streets of Rotherham.”
