A Czech IVF clinic has accidentally implanted two women with each other's embryos.
The Reprofit fertility clinic, based in Brno, works with several UK clinics, and treated 304 UK patients in 2015.
According to local media, the clinic itself reported the error to The State Institute for Drug Control, after discovering the mistake during random quality control checks.
Commenting on the mix up, Matej Stejskal, vice Chairman of the clinic's holding company FutureLife said: 'It was a human error, not a system failure. The people who manipulated the embryos are suspended.'
The two women, who have not been identified, are thought to have come from outside the Czech Republic, although there's no suggestion either are British.
