Brenda Leyland, 63, was exposed as one of the people posting abusive messages about missing Madeleine McCann’s parents.
After a dossier containing the messages was handed over to police, a journalist at Sky News tracked down Ms Leyland and asked her why she targeted the McCanns and their nine-year-old twins.
She answered at the time: “I’m entitled to do that”.

Days later, her body was found at a nearby hotel after she fled her home.
Police are not treating her death as suspicious.
A neighbour told the Mail Online: “Somebody took a photo of her on Thursday afternoon and then she was gone. I haven’t seen her since.”
Another said after her disappearance: “While I wouldn’t condone what Brenda is accused of doing, I am worried for her safety now she has apparently fled the village.”
A Leicestershire Police spokeswoman said: “Police were called at 1.42pm on Saturday 4 October to reports of a body of a woman in a hotel room in Smith Way, Grove Park.
“Officers have attended the scene and a file is being prepared for the coroner.”
