Barbie has more than 150 careers under her belt; she's been a model, a ballerina, a surgeon, a computer engineer and a vet.
"We have to change popular culture and start showing more women, more cool, dynamic, creative women, in these roles"
Now she's ready to make like Mark Zuckerberg and become an inspirational business entrepreneur.
Yup, Mattel has released its newest Barbie doll model - and she's ready to inspire children everywhere to be whoever they want to be in the world of business.
Reshma Saujani, the founder of Girls Who Code, a nonprofit devoted to gender parity in computing and other STEM fields, is working as one of Barbie's new 'Chief Inspirational Officers'.
She said: “Unfortunately we live in a culture where girls are bombarded with images of male coders and engineers that just don’t look like them.
"When you ask a girl what a computer scientist is, she usually pictures a geeky guy typing away. And then we wonder why girls don’t pursue careers in tech!
"We have to change popular culture and start showing more women, more cool, dynamic, creative women, in these roles.”
Now for sale via Amazon (and in stores later this summer), this Barbie "is ready to make a bold business move and strike out on her own to achieve her career dreams!"
We love that she's stolen a pink suit straight of of Legally Blonde's Elle Woods' wardrobe. We love that she looks professional AND chic, with a luxe glam necklace and elegant hairstyle.
But, most importantly, we love that Barbie Entrepreneur is #unapologetic about following her dreams. And we hope that children, women and parents everywhere will follow in her well-heeled footsteps ASAP.
