John Deeney is threatening to press charges against his daughter’s school over claims that the head teacher removed his daughter’s earrings without permission.

John is the father of Alyssa, six and Darci, five and the incident has resulted in the father-of-two removing his daughter from Partington Central Academy.

The girls (Alyssa and Darci) went back to school on Monday (5 September) wearing their studs but at the end of the day Alyssa told her mum Amy Rawcliffe that the headteacher and another teacher removed her earrings with no parental consent.

Their other daughter Darci also revealed that she was told off in school for wearing her studs.

However, things took a turn for the worse on Tuesday (6 September) when John took the girls into school searching for answers. After being told that they’ll be working in isolation all day because of their earrings, he took them from the school.

He also admitted that they will not be returning until The Dean Trust (who run the school) allow the girls to wear their studs.

John spoke to the Manchester Evening News, saying: “I checked out the website – it clearly stated no jewellery apart from inexpensive studs, which is what my girls wear.

“That a headteacher and another member of staff were standing over my daughter taking off her earrings without a call to either parent is unacceptable.

“They should not be putting their hands on my daughter.”

John has also made a complaint with the school and contacted the police to see if he can press charges against the school.

The chief executive of The Dean Trust told the Mirror: “As part of The Dean Trust policy on uniform, all parents were provided with advance notice that jewellery was not part of the school uniform.”

They added: “We cannot comment on individual family circumstances.”
