Marcio Gomes saved his pregnant wife and their two young daughters from the Grenfell Tower fire - but his wife suffered a stillbirth
The miraculous story of Marcio Gomes saving his entire family from their home on the 21st floor of Grenfell Tower was a glimmer of hope in a dark time.
Marcio rushed down the stairs with his pregnant wife, Andreia, along with 10-year-old Megan and rushed back into the burning building to save 12-year-old Luana, who had fallen on the stairs on the way down.
Seven-months-pregnant Andreia was immediately put in an induced coma at hospital to save both her life and her unborn son's.
But devastatingly, she suffered a stillbirth whilst in the coma, despite the hospital staff's best efforts to save the baby.

Marcio told The Sunday Telegraph that the couple had already decided to name the baby Logan Isaac before he was born.
He described the "very traumatic time", saying that Logan's heart had tragically stopped and he would need to be delivered so that unconscious Andreia would not contract an infection.
Marcio said: "The doctors came and said the baby's heart had stopped and the priority is the mother.
"My wife gave birth that night while she was in an induced coma so she didn't know at the time. At 11.03 in the evening my baby boy was born."
The dad-of-two added that he was able to hold his son after he was born: "I was holding him, he looked peaceful, like a baby that was just sleeping. I wanted to be there with him but he had already died."
He also had to tell his wife what had happened once she woke up, saying it was "very emotional".
Quick-thinking Marcio was able to save his family from the inferno, which has so far claimed 79 lives, by wrapping them all in wet towels and helping them down the stairs from their home on the 21st floor of the 24-storey building.
He told The Sun: "We didn't see people, we just felt people. We were just climbing over bodies."
Family friend Neil Payne has set up a Go Fund Me page to try and help the family put their lives back together.
