Bryan Whyte, 34, was driving on the A82 north of Fort William, Scotland, was involved in a crash with a pickup.

Dawn Gordon had been due to marry Bryan - who was the father of her four children - next month in Roy Bridge, Scotland.

As Dawn arrived in Inverness to begin her hen weekend, she heard the news that there had been an accident on the roads.

And when Bryan didn't pick up his phone, Dawn began to panic.

'He looked after me all the time and he was a brilliant father. I'm going to miss him so much.'

'Bryan always answered his phone so when he didn't answer I knew it was him.'

Dawn said: 'He kept me safe. He looked after me all the time and he was a brilliant father. I'm going to miss him so much.'

The couple had been together for 13 years and were parents to four children: Cameron, 11, Tyler, 9, Innes, 7 and Katlyn, 3.

Bryan was about to make his international debut as a darts player for Scotland. In his day job he was an HGV mechanic.
