Jason Owen was released from prison despite reports that he is still a dangerous person.

The 42-year-old was jailed for six years after being found guilty of torturing 17-month-old Baby P.

He has been released three months before his jail sentence was due to finish.

He will be monitored for the next three months by police and probation officers, but he will officially be a free man following his probation period.

Owen has reportedly been given a new identity on his release from prison.

He has been placed in a hostel following his release, but will be given his own bedsit within the next few weeks ‘for his own protection.’

Criminal justice expert Harry Fletcher told a UK newspaper: “The reason he was let out early was not because he is no longer a danger or for leniency, but so he can be supervised.”
