If you’ve been using the king of dating apps to find yourself dates and one night stands despite being in relationship, then you better watch your back, because this new website is on to you.
Swipebuster has arrived, and it does exactly what is says on the tin.
Suspicious significant others, all you have to do is type the suspect’s name, age and gender into the site, and hint to where they’re likely to be swiping left or right. Long distance cheaters live in fear…
You have to pay a fee to get results ($4.99) but once you do, it pulls in the results of all the people that fit the profile in the area, meaning you can check out if your partner has been playing while the cat's away. Like a Guess Who of the dating app world…
Even more stalker-ish, you can find out when they last logged on and whether they’re seeking females or males.
Vanity Fair spoke to the site’s creator – who, ironically, is trying to remain anonymous – and they explained that people need to be aware of how much information they are putting out to the cyberworld.
“There is too much data about people that people themselves don't know is available… Not only are people oversharing and putting out a lot of information about themselves, but companies are also not doing enough to let people know they're doing it," he said.
But will Tinder – who we can only imagine are less than pleased that their percentage of unfaithful users (we’d love to get our hands on that data) – may be deleting their accounts as we speak.
They responded to Vanity Fair’s coverage by assuring the magazine:
“Searchable information on the website is public information that Tinder users have on their profiles. If you want to see who's on Tinder we recommend saving your money and downloading the app for free."
Yes, you’d be saving a few bucks, but following a love rat around rapidly swiping until you do (or don’t?) come across them doesn’t sound like fun. And remember, they may be searching an age, location and gender profile you simply do not fit in.
Not to mention, if they find your profile first, then you haven’t got a leg to stand on….
Would you use Swipebuster to try and catch your partner out?
