Sex positions aren’t usually associated with danger – as long as they’re not too ‘out there’.

But a new study has revealed the most dangerous, and you might be surprised.

New figures claim ‘woman on top’, aka the ‘cowgirl’ causes half of the penile fractures incurred during sex.

The research revealed: “Our study supports the fact that sexual intercourse with ‘women on top’ is the potentially riskiest sexual position related to penile fracture.

On average, men waited up to six hours to seek medical help for their fractured penises

“Our hypothesis is that when the woman is on top she usually controls the movement with her entire body weight landing on the erect penis, not being able to interrupt it when the penis suffers a wrong way penetration, because the harm is usually minor in woman with no pain but major in the penis.”

The research also suggests that sex with the man on top causes just 21 per cent of penile injuries.

“On the contrary , when the man is controlling the movement, he has better chances of stopping the penetration energy in response to the pain related to the penis harm, minimising it.”

According to the doctors and nurses who took part in the study, male patients claimed to hear a crack when fracturing their penis. Pain and swelling then follows.

But, as usual with men, a lot of them were apparently embarrassed with their injuries and, on average, waited SIX hours before seeking medical help.
