Top of the hues is pastel pink (left from Red Herring at Depenhams, £70), coveted by all the fashion press its enjoying star status for the season, but don't panic, if pink's a little saccharine for you there's an array of alternative colours and plaid prints that pack an equally cool fashion punch.

In fact this really is a season where there is something for everyone, simply shop with this body busting rules in mind….

Petite girls

Keep it fitted and not much print, single breasted simple tailored cuts will serve you best. The 60's pea coat with small collar will look especially stunning.

Big boobs

Avoid big fur collars like the plague, double breasted coats will minimise bustage and collarless cuts or thin lapels should be firmly on your shopping radar

Big bottoms

Don't even consider a short crop coats for a second, however longer cocoon cuts look awesome on you as do boyfriend loose style, keep your under outfit fitted to streamline your shape, most importantly make sure the crop of your coat doesn't sit at your widest point,

Curvy girls

Avoid heavy bulky fabrics if you don't want to add extra inches, tailored cuts will streamline your frame, but swing boxy styles will look great if you carry your weight on your middle, wide lapels and open necklines tend to be a little more flattering across the body, and belted styles will give instant shape.

Tall ladies

Avoid thigh finishing cuts they can look a little small on taller frames, instead go for this season's magic midi or full length and fabulous – you can really pull them off. Big fur collars wont swamp so cosy up with this luxe looking addition too.
