You don't have to worry about intricate plaits, super neat buns or rainbow colours ladies, as simply wearing your tresses to one side will have you looking totally on trend for 2014 with minimal effort!

Stars including Emma Watson, Tess Daly and yesterday, Emma Stone have all been rocking the one sided style and it couldn't be easier to recreate.

Get prepped!

Whether you are wanting your locks curly, straight or braided, it is all about the prep to achieve this look. After washing, decide which side of your head you want your hair to fall (preferably the side which is naturally fuller), and blow dry in that direction, aiming the nozzle in a downwards motion to keep your parting frizz free.

Once dry, brush your hair round to the side with a wide paddle brush, on to one shoulder. Take a few grips and pin the hair into the place at the nape of the neck and give it a quick spritz of hairspray to hold.

Curl it

Split the hair into two layers, and begin curling using tongs or a waving wand, as tight or lose and you would like. Once your bottom layer is done, take the top half of hair and do the same, ensuring that your curls are all sitting the same way and finish with with a little hairspray.

Finish it

If you want tight curls, you're all set, but if you prefer a more wavy finish like Emma's, rake your finger tips through your ringlets to help them drop slightly and loosen. Then remove the pins at the base of the neck and smooth over hair with a little gel or hairspray to ensure it stays sitting where it should and voila!

If you like a softer approach, try braiding one side and leave the other curly, or keep it super sleek by holding in place with a statement hair grip or accessory. If you have shorter hair nearer the front of your head or frizz that won't sit, try using a grip that matches your hair colour wise, and slide in to place just behind the ear.
