We all love spending a weekend morning digging into pancakes and catching up with friends, but sometimes finding the perfect outfit for brunch can be tricky.

Whether it’s a friend’s birthday or you just fancied catching up over a mimosa, you’re almost always guaranteed to be taking photos to mark the occasion – and nobody wants to look bad in that Instagram post.

While we all have plenty ofoutfit ideas for most occasions, it can be extra tricky to find a great outfit for brunch. Why? Because dressing for brunch requires the perfect balance of dressy yet casual. For example, you don’t want to look too OTT in your go-to wedding guest outfit, yet you need to be a little more glam than your basic day-to-day looks.

But thankfully, our fave celebs have been posting their go-to brunch outfits.

1) Dress up your PJs

Brunch is technically breakfast…so it makes sense to wear a pyjama-inspired outfit, right? Silky co-ords are everywhere right now and honestly, they make the spring brunch outfit, as proven by Kate Ferdinand.

The best bit is, most silky co-ords come with an elasticated waistband – perfect for when you’ve eaten a little too much! We recommend opting for a fun printed style paired with court shoes or loafers for a celeb-worthy look.

2) Have fun in florals

If you want to keep things fun, flirty and feminine then look no further than the floral frock.
This wardrobe staple is a super-easy summer brunch outfit and will look great every time the sun comes out.
The trick to making this daytime dress work for brunch is to accessorise with a statement lip, heels and of course a glass of prosecco, just like Amy Hart.

3) Jeans and a nice top

When in doubt, jeans and a nice top will always work for a daytime event. This casual brunch idea works because it has the perfect balance of smart yet casual. Plus, it leaves you with so much scope to really play around and find an outfit that suits your body.

Keep it neutral like Fearne McCann and Billie Faiers for a daytime affair, or swap for a brighter colour if you want to liven things up for a summer brunch.

Finish off with heeled sandals and get ready to smile for the camera.

4) Add a little sparkle

Heading to an extra special occasion? While most brunch events require a slightly casual look, some need you to go the extra mile.

In these scenarios, we suggest going all out and wearing something super fun, girly and more importantly, sparkly just like Helen Flanagan,

A sequin dress will have all eyes on you, making it the perfect dressy brunch outfit. Let the dress be the star of your bottomless brunch outfit by keeping the rest of your outfit simple – a simple heeled sandal and blazer will do the trick.

And don’t be afraid to go OTT - Helen’s Barbiecore outfit proves that a little bit of glitz and glamour is needed every now and then.

5) Grab your blazer

The easiest way to make even the most simple outfit suitable for brunch is to add a simple tailored jacket.

From jeans and a bodysuit to a simple knitted dress, adding a blazer will take your brunch outfit from basic to elevated, as proven by Ashley Roberts. Plus, it is a great way to add an extra layer of warmth if is it a little chilly outside.

We recommend sticking to neutral tones like camel, black or brown and keeping to this colour palette for your entire outfit.

6) Don’t forget your LBD

It can be easy to feel overwhelmed by different colours, trends and prints – and it is during these times you should look back to an old faithful wardrobe staple: the LBD.

Your favourite little black dress will work just as well for a casual brunch as well as a dressy brunch outfit. The key is getting your accessories right for the occasion.

Go dressy like Sam Faiers with stilettos, a sparkly bag and a blow-dry for a timeless bottomless brunch outfit. Or keep it more casual by swapping your heels for flat sandals and popping your hair in a messy bun.

7) Go bright

Brunch is a daytime event, so don’t be afraid to brighten things up in vibrant shades like Olivia Attwood.

Opting for a colourful jumper is guaranteed to make you stand out from the crowd. For a super-stylish winter brunch outfit, try pairing your bright knit with leather-look trousers or a silky slip skirt and finishing off with neutral boots.

Following these simple brunch outfit ideas will make it so much easier to find the perfect look for mimosas with the girls. Now all we need is a brunch invite!
