You’ve been saying ASOS wrong all this time

Our minds have been BLOWN by this ASOS bombshell!

ASOS

Ah, ASOS - how do we love thee?

We can’t count the days (or the number of outfits) we’ve bought from the online retailer, to be honest.

And, similarly, we’ve lost count of the times we’ve puzzled over how to say the name.

Some people confidently swagger in and pronounce it “ass-os”, while others (like, say, this writer) prefer “ace-os”.

But which is the right way, damn it?

Well, we FINALLY know the answer.

The fashionable folks over at the ASOS website have taken the time to delve into the story behind their iconic moniker.

And one clever clogs made sure to share the correct pronunciation, too.

Are you ready for this?

“People often ask where our name comes from (usually straight after they ask us how to pronounce it — it's ACE-OSS, by the way).”

HA - WE KNEW IT!!!

Ahem.

The news comes shortly after we learned that Zara isn’t pronounced ‘Zara’ (that would be too easy, wouldn’t it?).

Instead, it’s pronounced "dzah-dah" due to the Northern Castilian dialect where Zs are pronounced with a soft "th" sound, and Rs are closer to Ds.

Don’t understand?
