Em Ford, the stunning beauty blogger of My Pale Skin{ =nofollow}, has beautifully exposed the horrific nature of online bullying in her latest video.

The talented makeup artist explained: “Three months ago, I began posting images of myself without makeup on social media.

“The following film contains real comments that were left on images of my face.”

The video, which has been viewed over 1 million times on YouTube, allows people to see the horrendous comments made about the acne sufferer’s skin.

Some of the abusive comments include “her face is so ugly”, “you’re revolting”, and “don’t you ever wash your face?”

Em then shows herself applying her makeup - and, as she does so, the comments surrounding her change to read “you look amazing” and you’re so perfect”.

But, despite this sudden change in tone, the abuse still isn’t over.

Check it out:

As Em poses with her makeup on, we begin to see how bullies use her skills as a beauty artist against her.

“This is false advertising,” rages one.

“Imagine waking up next to her in the morning,” slams another.

And, most horrifically of all, “respect yourself, you damn slut”.

SERIOUSLY?

Thankfully, the video ends on an empowering note.

Speaking about the short film, Em explains: “Over the past few months, I've received thousands of messages from people all over the world who suffer or have suffered from acne, an insecurity or self confidence issues.

“I wanted to create a film that showed how social media can set unrealistic expectations on both women and men. One challenge many face today, is that as a society, we're so used to seeing false images of perfection, and comparing ourselves to unrealistic beauty standards that it can be hard to remember the most important thing - You ARE beautiful.

“You are beautiful - no matter how flawed you feel, no matter how upset you may about the way you look or how hard you find it to make friends, or be confident.

“Believe in yourself, and never let anyone tell you're not beautiful - not even yourself."
