In today’s day and age, we’re all guilty of spending too much time on our smartphones.
But it seems as if all that clicking and scrolling could be having a damaging effect on our children.
Speaking with Start-rite, these children were asked about who uses digital gadgets the most in their family home, and how it makes them feel.
And the results were heartbreaking.
One little girl said simply: "My mum spends all day on her computer and I feel sad because I won't get to play with her on a board game or something."
Another little boy added: “It kind of makes me feel like they don’t care about us, ecause they’re on their phone and don’t want to talk to us.”
Watch what they had to say in this eye-opening video:
The footage comes shortly after research, conducted by Start-rite, showed that a third of children are upset that their parents spend too long on gadgets - and not enough time chatting to them.
The research also showed that parents rely too much on technology when it comes to entertaining their children, with 93% of kids surveyed admitting that they own some kind of digital device.
Popular parenting blogger, Leta Elliott, was shocked by the findings.
She said: "To be honest, I was shocked by the survey's findings: who would want their child to spend more time in front of a screen than talking to their family?
"Whilst there’s no denying that technology is only going to become more influential in all of our futures, I still believe that real life is far more important, especially in childhood."
Are you surprised to hear that children have been left feeling sad about their parents’ over-use of technology?
