Any parent with a Thomas & Friends obsessed preschooler will know that birthday party and child-friendly celebrations mean one thing only: Thomas, Thomas and more Thomas! It’s hard to know where to start, but we’ve put together a few tips to ensure you don’t go off the rails!

  • Preparation is key! Your preschooler may be a walking, talking Thomas & Friends encyclopedia, but do you know your Thomas from your Percy and your Annie from your Clarabel? Luckily, for the uninitiated or those who have managed to escape everyone’s favourite blue engine on repeat time and time again, the Thomas & Friends website comes to the rescue with a handy Engine guide. You could even create a game with a leaderboard and give out little prizes to all who take part before crowning your winner the Thomas master! You’ll never be short of Sodor knowledge ever again. Full steam ahead as Thomas might say…
  • Didn’t know that Thomas was on the App Store? Prepare to be acquainted with your new favourite download!  From virtual train sets to interactive games and books, Thomas has well and truly gone digital. Kids will love ‘Talk to You’ which gives little fans the opportunity to talk to and interact with their favorite #1 Blue Tank Engine and the rest of the Steam Team

  • No Thomas party would be complete without the instantly recognizable theme tune. Just be warned, it’s so catchy you will be humming along in your sleep for at least a week! Find ‘The Roll Call’ on the official Thomas YouTube page along with several other karaoke sing-alongs. Try to create a game where kids take turns to sing the different songs or you could also play musical chairs
  • Goody bags are a party essential, from Thomas bubbles and mini engines to whistles and stickers, an abundance of goodies can be found online to ensure your guests will have a lasting reminder of their favourite party yet!
  • Finally, how about creating a special movie night with Thomas? Let the kids stay up late and watch Thomas and his friends as they take on adventure after adventure on the Island of Sodor. Catch Thomas on Milkshake, Nick Jr, YouTube or even stock up on your DVD collection. Just make sure you don’t forget the popcorn!

Thomas & Friends take families on a journey to London this summer with the launch of an exclusive themed suite taking residency at The Waldorf Hilton, London.
