Research finds that we get lost 24 times over the course of a year - with 55% of people turning to a device for help.
The study, commissioned by Ordnance Survey to celebrate National Map Reading Week, also found that 65% of people are not confident about reading a map.
Three quarters of people feel that they don't have a sense of direction, but almost one in four will NEVER ask for directions.

When it came to men vs. women, 60% of men said that their sense of direction was WAY stronger than their female other halves.
But sadly, only a third of women thought they might be better than their male partners.

Look for landmarks and try and locate them on your map

Stop - don't progress any further as you could get more lost

During your travels, every so often look around you - this can help you remember the way back
